Bruny Island is an island just south of Hobart. It's a 15 minute ferry ride from the ferry's home port of Kettering and has around 600 permanent residents with tens of thousands of visitors landing every year to enjoy its solitude and beauty. Over the past few months real estate sales have rocketed especially with commercial property sales. Foreign investors have snapped up Lennonville, Simpsons Point, Apollo Bay, Morella and associated properties in the same area, as well as multiple purchases of holiday houses in iconic areas such as Cloudy Bay. Plans for the island's development have slowly begun to surface with holiday accommodation offerings set to reach record levels over the next 18 months. There are also discussions regarding business development, infrastructure and transport. The island is now serviced by two ferries during the warmer months and demand for getting to the island has increased. In Adventure Bay alone, a multi-million dollar tourist development is about to get underway. The island now has a full time ambulance service, 24 hour medical centre, pharmacy and the most ridiculous fuel prices in Tasmania! Good place to invest?
